Last night I headed to Dalston to catch Theme Park at new Vice run venue Birthdays for their sold out single launch. On support were Childhood who again were excellent.

The sweaty basement was then warmed up even further by some tunes spun by none other than Theme Park’s Transgressive label mate, Becoming Real.

By the time the headliners came on, the venue was almost uncomfortably full but spirits were soon raised once they’d launched into their first song. Plenty of dancing erupted throughout the crowd whilst the boys knocked out a consistant flow of quality eighties inspired indie pop songs.

Their set included previous singles ‘Wax’ and ‘Milk’ which received an amazing reception from the excited audience as well as  new single ‘Jamaica’ of course, the reason for the single launch party. They closed things with ‘Two Hours’ which is definitely my firm favourite so it was a pleasing end to a very enjoyable set. A full length LP soon please boys? Yes?
