Friends of Mine, Manchester’s favourite promoters, are branching out this May to bring you a wonderful festival line-up located in the heart of Cheshire all set in the stunning surroundings of Capesthorne Hall. Just a 25 minute train journey from Manchester Piccadilly, FOM will play host to some of the best acts around, old and new, including The Charlatans, The Cribs, My Tiger My Timing, Kong and The Buzzcocks- as well as hosting another no-doubt ruckus house party (with DJ sets from the fantastic Same Teens and Wasted Little DJ’s) as well as comedy stages. Tickets are just £89.50 for the weekend including camping which is sure to be a sell-out so get them whilst you can! Here are our tips on who not to miss at the event, see you down the front!

The Fall
70’s punk legends The Fall will be bringing their unmistakable new wave sounds to the fields on the Sunday Evening. With fans as cool as Sonic Youth and These New Puritans singing their praises, be sure see front man Mark E Smith in all his glory as they thrash out belligerent brilliance from their iconic albums spanning across almost three decades.
Emmy The Great
Toning things down a notch on the Saturday afternoon will be the blissful delights of Emmy The Great, bringing her serene, acoustic performance to the greenery of Capesthorne Hall. Expect gorgeous melodies, heart-wrenching lyrics and mellow sing-a-longs off her 2009 debut and who knows, maybe a sneak peek of tracks from her highly-anticipated second album, perfect to be played out in the countryside.
The Cribs
Hailing from Wakefield, Yorkshire, The Cribs are no longer the underground heroes they once were since building up a dedicated brand of followers over their past four albums. Still sticking to their DIY roots, a cribs live show is nothing short of an unbelievably brilliant rampage (Remember Ryan Jarman’s now infamous stage-dives from back in 2008, anyone?). FOM is lucky enough to be one of the small, independent festivals The Cribs will be playing this summer before starting work on their fifth album. Catch them headlining the event on the Saturday Night!
Black Lips
Last on our picks, but certainly not least are Georgian crazies Black Lips. Known for fleeing countries thanks to their antics and their live presences including nudity and flaming guitars, they will certainly bring an element of derangement to the event… in the best possible way of course!
Friends of Mine is held over May 20th, 21st and 22nd. Tickets for the weekend are on sale now, check out http://www.fomfest.com/ for all the latest announcements, ticket links and information.
