Basically, because we don’t have Freedom Spark Radio anymore, I thought I’d start a feature on new bands every couple of weeks. It saves doing 3953258208 ‘Introducing’ pieces.
Shinies

Their new single ‘Pillow Talk’ is out on Dirty Bingo Records on Monday and it is a mellow yet rather scuzzy indie pop number. Think Pavement crossed with The Pains of Being Pure At Heart with a twist of Exlovers. You get the idea. Get involved in the summer guitar pop vibes.
Cut Your Hair

Despite their completely horrendous name, this cute Spanish trio are actually the crafters of some very good pop music. Their new song ‘Utah in Pictures’ is inspired by some photographs of Salt Lake City that singer, Sergio , saw of Salt Lake City on the internet. Not exactly an intense story but it’s still a pretty bloody nice sun drenched pop song. It’s out on the 30th on Mushroom Pillow Records.
Slam Donahue
Yes, I do understand that I am bombarding you with indie music. Just one more, I promise! Slam Donahue are a Brooklyn trio that have a free EP out entitled Big House Nice Dreams. Check it out below:
Arthur Beatrice

Singer, Ella Girardot, has one of the best female voices that I’ve heard in a while. I’m a little bit obsessed with it. Put it to some incredible instrumentation / production and you have the wonderful Arthur Beatrice. They released their single ‘Midland’ a couple of weeks ago but this Thursday is the single launch at The Lexington with Alby Daniels on support. £5 entry. Get involved London. You can also hear the amazing Bwana remix of the song on my most recent mixtape.
Gold’n

Gold’n is the side project of Jack from Reading based guitar band Peers. It is a lot different to what you would except. SO MUCH BEAUTIFUL AMBIANCE. This music is absolutely gorgeous.
Dreams
Dreams is Jesse Pimenta who is part of the infamous 6 Bit Collective clan. His ambiant, glitchy beats and samples WILL be heard within the white walls of underground electronic clubs very shortly. His song ‘Don’t Care About Her’ is a free download on Absent Fever’s Generation Y Not compilation. Get it here.

[...] Shinies are, well…wait what? It appears that Shinies are a group based in Manchester (REPRESENT) who make rock’n’roll with thrusting strings, Yuck vocals and a scuzz that is reminiscent of Girls, dare we say it. WAIT, WHAT?! It appears my fabulous editor (call it what you will but Katie is well and truly ahead of the game) jumped on this dinghy well and truly before me and quite frankly, I couldn’t put it better myself… [...]
